About Girls Make Your Move
Girls Make Your Move is about inspiring, energising and empowering young women to be more active regardless of ethnicity, size or ability.
Why girls? Studies show that young women are twice as likely as boys to be inactive and that they experience more barriers preventing them from being as physically active.
The Girls Make Your Move campaign has been inspired by Sport England's successful 'This Girl Can' initiative which has already encouraged nearly 3 million women to be more active.
An overview of the campaign background, which was developed to address the lower level of physical activity and barriers faced by young Australian women.
Insights from research undertaken to inform the development of the campaign and identify key drivers and barriers to participation in physical activity among young Australian women.
Independent evaluation research undertaken to assess the impact of the campaign against its objectives.
Friends of Girls Make Your Move
‘Friends of Girls Make Your Move’ includes a range of organisations that share the same vision of the campaign that all girls should participate in physical activity and have the opportunity to do so. These organisations have provided valuable support to give girls around Australia an opportunity to get active.
