Group exercise classes
Group classes are a great way to meet new people, learn the basics and stay motivated. There are many different types of classes, including boxing, Pilates, spin (stationary bicycles), Zumba and pump.
These are usually held at local sport and recreation centres, gyms, universities and pools (aqua aerobics). Most gyms will offer some sort of free trial, try out a few to see if you like the vibe and to see if the timetable matches your schedule.
Mix up sessions to keep things interesting and stay motivated. Depending on where you go, you may need a membership. Talk to your instructor for extra help learning techniques. Let them know you are new and they can help tailor the class to beginner level.
