Prepare for your child’s appointment
Young children commonly get colds and mild fevers. Some parents are concerned when this occurs at the same time as vaccinations.
Most of the time it’s not a problem to vaccinate when your child is mildly unwell. If you’re in doubt, talk to your doctor or nurse first.
Skipping or delaying vaccination puts your child and those around you at risk of contracting a serious disease.
Most children with underlying medical problems can receive all the recommended vaccines. Talk to your doctor or immunisation provider if you have concerns.
