The National Tobacco Campaign (the campaign) was developed to support Australian smokers to quit smoking and prevent as many people as possible starting.
The campaign aims to deliver personally relevant information about the health impacts of smoking and importantly, to show smokers the health benefits that quitting has for themselves and their community.
The campaign recognises the importance of finding the right quitting method that will support smokers to become smoke-free.
By encouraging and supporting quit attempts among smokers, the campaign has achieved measureable results to help reduce smoking rates in Australia.
While quitting can be hard, the campaign encourages smokers to keep trying!
A range of tools are available that provide further support for smokers including the Quitline 13 7848 and the My QuitBuddy and Quit for You Quit for Two apps.
